Curriculum

Curriculum Overview

Grades 1 – 4: Our program in the younger grades concentrates on the fundamentals of the Bible, Hebrew, prayer, holidays, and Jewish history and culture. The program is enriched by music and art.

Grades 5 – 7: The upper grades continue the study of Jewish fundamentals with additional focus on Jewish ethics, values, and modern and contemporary Jewish history. A variety of study units are taught, including Israel (grade 5), Jewish life cycle (grade 6), Holocaust (grade 7) and contemporary Jewish issues (grade 7). Sixth graders can elect to participate in an extended Sunday program (until 1:30 PM), which includes further study for those preparing to become Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

In addition there are two extended day programs:

  1. Jewish Values – a Jewish studies curriculum based on fundamental Jewish values and questions decided on by the participants and teacher in discussion with the director. Sundays 12:00 – 1:00
  2. Chug Ivri – a conversational Hebrew club. Sundays 12:00 – 1:00

The forms for Extended day and Chug Ivri are available here.
