Passover Book Fair

Passover Book Fair:

Responsibilities of Coordinator (1):

The coordinator facilitates the sale of Passover-related items to the BJEP community.  BJEP works with Shuki’s Judaica Jewlery & Gift  (www.shukisjudaica.com), located 499 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA 01701  (508) 370-0990

  • Call Shuki’s Judaica at least one month ahead to request a selection of books to sell at the Fair.  Let them know that this selection need not be as large as our Hanukkah Book Fair.  However, it should include the following: haggadot or other items to enhance a seder, children’s books and music about Passover, and Passover-related gifts.   However, as with the Hanukkah Book Fair, there MUST be multiple copies so that people can buy on the spot.  And, confirm that BJEP will get 20% of the profits.
  • Check with the BJEP staff that three tables have been ordered for display on the day of Passover Book Fair in Golding Lobby.  Also check that they are sending out reminders for the event
  • Arrange for Book Fair Helpers to pick up books and other items from Shuki’s in Framingham.
  • Confirm that Book Fair Helpers plan to put up at least four posters on the day of event to remind parents of the Book Fair.
  • Arrive at 9:00 on day of Passover Book Fair to display books.
  • Sell books from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm on day of Passover Book Fair.
  • Keep track of all items sold.
  • Make sure that Book Fair Helpers are returning unbought items to Shuki’s.
  • Hand over all checks and money to BJEP treasurer—who will then write a check to give to Shuki’s.
  • Send check to Shuki’s and ask the store to make a check out to BJEP equal to 20% of the cost of the items.  Submit check to BJEP treasurer.
