Parent Participation

The success of BJEP lies in large part on the ongoing commitment and involvement of our parents. Mainly a volunteer-run organization, BJEP relies on parents to participate in school activities and events. This participation strengthens our school and is vital to its ongoing livelihood. Parents contribute by becoming board members, helping with class events and various holiday events, and organizing BJEP functions. At the time of registration, each family is required to volunteer for one classroom job or school-wide  job per child.

BJEP encourages family participation in school functions, such as:

  • Children’s Services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
  • Sukkah Decoration
  • Book Fair
  • Purim Carnival
  • Model Seder
  • Adult Education
  • Apple Picking Outing (apples donated to local shelter)
  • Charles River Clean-Up

It is imperative that each parent fulfill his/her volunteer obligation or find a replacement. The parent must communicate any volunteer changes to his/her event coordinator one week prior to the scheduled event.
